I’m a journalist and documentary filmmaker based in New York City. After almost a decade as a video journalist at Reuters, reporting throughout China, I completed an MJ at the University of California, Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism, focusing on documentary filmmaking and investigative reporting.

After studying literature in college, I began my career in journalism as a camerawoman, and later expanded to reporting, producing, presenting, and writing. My body of work includes videos, text pieces, and podcasts, and has appeared in various media outlets, such as The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Reuters, and The Washington Post. My first documentary film, The Long Wait, won a jury award at the Directors Guild of America 26th Annual Student Film Awards, and it was also the official selections at various international film festivals.

A native of Chengdu, China, I have also lived in Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai. I carry my own bottle of hot chili powder everywhere I go.
